Denise started practising Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga to relieve the stress of corporate life. It certainly worked as it gave her
the space and courage to leave her job and focus on studying and sharing the practice.
Her inspiration and direction comes from her world-renowned teachers, John and Lucy Scott. For 3 years she has had the privilege of
working closely with John and Lucy as their apprentice/teaching assistant. This has provided a unique and amazing opportunity to deepen
her understanding of the teaching techniques and the practice. She has taught all over the world with John and Lucy - India, Kenya,
Singapore, Japan and extensively at their studio in Cornwall.
In addition to this Denise has passed John Scotts 2 year Ashtanga teacher training and David Swenson’s Ashtanga foundation course and
she has studied with Sri K Pattabhi Jois (founder of Ashtanga) and Sharath (Co- director) in Mysore, India - home of Ashtanga. Denise is
committed to continuing her studies with them in India – it is so important to study with the source of Ashtanga Vinyasa and receive the
traditional – correct teaching of this method. She has a broad background in teaching and working with the body as she is also a qualified
Pilates and Martial Arts Instructor.
